This unit is fitted at the remote end of an extender system that allows any RS232 device to be located at distances of up to 500 metres and above, from the host system.

It consists of a microcontroller based electronic circutry that perfoms the signal translation and long distance transmission functions..

 It is housed in a tough ABS enclosure which measures 90mm(L) x 50mm(W) x 25mm(H).

It is fitted with with an RJ45 coupler (socket) on a flying lead, for connection to the user supplied cat5 standard network cable.

 It is also fitted with a 9way D type male connector mounted on a flying lead, for connection to the user's device.

The unit is powered from the local end.
