This unit is fitted at the local end of an extender system that allows any RS232 device to be located at distances of up to 500 metres and above, from the host system.

 It is designed for use, as a pair with the, remote unit PC1411. 

It consists of a microcontroller based electronic circutry that perfoms the signal translation and long long distance transmission functions..

 It is housed in a tough ABS enclosure.

It is fitted with with an RJ45 coupler (socket) on a flying lead, for connection to the user supplied cat5 standard network cable.

 It is also fitted with a 9way D type connector mounted on a flying lead, for connection to the user's system.

Provision is made for power (5v) to be suppied through the 9way D connector.
